Playmaker extends contract until 2011

Torino have announced that playmaker Alessandro Rosina has extended his contract until 2011. Arsenal and Manchester City were believed to be keeping tabs on the talented 23-year-old, who has drawn widespread praise for his performances over the last two seasons. Rosina has also interested Milan and Roma in his homeland but he is staying with Torino after putting pen-to-paper on an extension.

Agreement

"He extended the deal. His new contract will expire in 2011," Torino president Urbano Cairo told the Italian press. "On Tuesday evening we met and we found an agreement. "Alessandro never asked for the contract extension last season when he played really well for us. I appreciated a lot that he was able to wait. He's a good guy and he understood the club's constraints." Rosina is happy to have committed his future to the club, adding: "I feel like a Torino player, I want to play for them now and in the future."
