Argentine ace set for return to starting XI

Inter Milan striker Diego Milito is set to return to the starting line-up for the UEFA Champions League clash with Schalke on Tuesday. Argentina striker Milito, 31, had been out since 6th February with a thigh injury but came on as a second-half substitute during Inter's 3-0 defeat at the hands of rivals AC Milan on Saturday. Now the Nerazzurri must switch their gaze to Europe as they look to advance past German outfit Schalke and into the semi-finals. Last year's Champions League winners play the first leg of their double header at the San Siro and Milito insists he is ready to fire his side to victory. "I am physically and mentally well," Milito said. "I am in good condition. I am delighted to have returned and I'm eager to help the team. "It has been a difficult season for me due to injuries but I am ready to transform the anger into positive energy and give my contribution to the team." On the Milan loss, Milito added: "We have put that defeat behind us. "We are only thinking about tomorrow's match, more so, after a defeat. "We don't have to prove anything to anyone. We've had a starring role in this competition so far and we intend to keep it. "We are convinced we can progress to the next stage. But Schalke is a strong team and we respect them. "You don't arrive to the quarter-finals just like that and it will be a difficult tie. We want to play a great game and win tomorrow." Milito played an integral role in Inter's treble-winning campaign last term and scored twice in the final against Bayern Munich. The Italians have won three and lost just once at the San Siro in the competition this season and have already overcome German opposition in the form of Bayern during the knockout stages.
