Roma have been fined €50,000 (£43,657) by UEFA following crowd disturbances in their Champions League semi-final against Liverpool.

The Italian club have also banned from selling tickets to their own fans for their next two away games in UEFA competition, with the second deferred under a probationary period of two years.

Liverpool fan Sean Cox sustained serious head injuries after being attacked by a group of Roma supporters ahead of the Champions League semi-final first leg at Anfield on April 24.

Two Italian men were later charged and remanded in custody.

UEFA have also opened disciplinary proceedings against Liverpool, whose fans were charged with setting off fireworks and throwing objects ahead of the semi-final first-leg.
