Midfielder happy to seal loan move from Juve

Sebastian Giovinco has set his sights on a successful stint with Parma after joining on loan from Juventus. The midfielder will stay at the Stadio Ennio Tardini for the whole of the forthcoming season and Parma will then have the option to sign him on a co-ownership deal. Giovinco admits he struggled last season and is determined to show his best form for his new club. "I arrive at the club with the right spirit and professionalism that I have always had," the 23-year-old told Ansa. "I am happy to be at this club and this society, seeing the horrible year that I had at Juve. "I want to demonstrate my worth to the side. "At Empoli [whilst on loan in 2007/08], I did well enough to get my name known my many people."

Cherry on top

Parma director Pietro Leonardi feels Giovinco's arrival will further strengthen an improving Parma side that finished eighth in Serie A last term. "I am convinced that Giovinco represents the cherry on top of the cake that our fans were constantly asking us for," said Leonardi. "He was highly sought after by the president, who wanted to bring a quality player to the side, and he is of first-class. "He has now arrived at Parma, and has the possibility to play here. Just like every player, he dreams of receiving a call-up for the national team."
