Borussia Monchengladbach has denied putting defender Steve Gohouri up for sale.
The player's agent had stated that because of a rift with manager Hans Meyer - the Ivorian stopper would be allowed to leave.
Rui Alves stated that Meyer had told Borussia that he did not want to work Gohouri anymore.
"Hans Meyer has told the club that he does not want to go on with Steve," Alves told Rheinische Post.
"A while back Borussia told us that the club would like to go on with Steve, but then he was left out, although he did well in training at that time."
However, director of football Max Eberl has insisted there is no such plan to sell the player.
"That's an outright lie! Steve was not part of the squad for the Dortmund friendly. Nothing more," he said.
"We are in a situation in which we need players fully focussed on Borussia and the task to avoid relegation.
"If Steve does not want to or if he is unable to do so, he has to come up with a club paying an adequate transfer fee. Otherwise this is off the cards."
Gohouri's future remains uncertain. Recent weeks have seen him linked with a move to England, with Stoke and Sunderland believed to be interested.
