Werder Bremen are ready to offer Torsten Frings a new deal that could see him join the club's hierarchy.

Veteran midfielder could be offered chance to join club's hierarchy

Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs is ready to offer Torsten Frings a new deal that will see the midfielder stay at the club beyond his playing career. The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, but both parties are eager to reach an agreement which will prolong his time at the Weserstadion. Allofs has revealed that Bremen are preparing a proposal for Frings, who has been linked with a move to the MLS, that would match a deal offered to former captain Frank Baumann when he moved onto the boardroom staff in 2009. "We are keen to keep Torsten Frings and the chance is that we are going to deal with him in the way we once did with Frank Baumann," Allofs told spox.com. "Even though Torsten is going to become 34 years of age, this does not mean he is not able to go on as a player."
