Pospech agrees two-year deal; Karhan to return to Slovakia

Mainz have confirmed that Copenhagen defender Zdenek Pospech will move to the Bundesliga in the summer. The full-back has agreed a two-year contract with the 2010/11 German top-flight's surprise package, which will become active when his current deal in Scandinavia expires in June. Pospech played in last week's UEFA Champions League last 16 first-leg defeat to Chelsea and Mainz general manager Christian Heidel thinks that the 32-year-old will prove a good addition. Heidel told Mainz's official website: "Zdenek Pospech is a technically gifted and very powerful player. "He will add valuable experience to our first-team fold. We are glad that we have been able to sign him for the new season." Meanwhile, Slovakia international midfielder Miroslav Karhan wants to leave Germany when his contract with Mainz expires in three months. He told Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung: "I am going to leave Mainz at the end of the season. I am going to return to where I originally came from."
