Loan signing looking to help Reds back to big time

New Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin wants to help the Reds return to the UEFA Champions League. The 23-year-old, who switched to Anfield on a season-long loan from Spanish champions Real Madrid, has already spoken of his hopes of winning a trophy at the club. The Turkey international would also like to help Brendan Rodgers' side back into the top four of the Premier League. Asked what he thinks the club can achieve this season, he told Sky Sports News: "Well if you watch the game against Man City you will see that the style what the team was playing is very good.

Big club

"Of course Liverpool has to play in the Champions League. A big club like Liverpool has to play every year in the Champions League and we will do everything to get into the top four. "Also there is FA Cup, Capital One Cup and Europa League and with this potential we have here we can reach some good things I think at the end of the season." Sahin revealed he favoured a move to the Reds over other clubs after hearing good things from former Liverpool midfielder and Real team-mate Xabi Alonso. He added: "Xabi played a long time here and I always said before I arrived here, Xabi is still in love with Liverpool Football Club and (he said) only ever good things about the club."
