Davy Propper netted a late goal as PSV Eindhoven secured a 2-1 win at Heracles Almelo to keep the pressure on at the top of the Eredivisie.

Midfielder Bart Ramselaar put the visitors ahead five minutes into the second half when he slammed the ball past goalkeeper Bram Castro from 12 yards after a break down the left.

Samuel Armenteros looked to have earned Heracles a point when he equalised with 16 minutes left, crashing in a volley at the far post from a deep right-wing cross.

However, there was still time for Propper to win it when the midfielder's angled drive was deflected past wrong-footed Castro.

Utrecht won 1-0 at struggling Go Ahead Eagles with an own goal from defender Xandro Schenk on 31 minutes.

The home side finished the match with 10 men after substitute Darren Maatsen collected a second caution in the 66th minute.

Roda moved above the Eagles and off the bottom of the table with an unexpected 4-0 win over Excelsior, who had defender Wimilio Mattheij sent off after just 18 minutes.
