England players wind down in training as they recover from Euro 2016 draw with Russia

England's starting XI in the 1-1 draw with Russia had the day off from training on Sunday as attentions slowly turned to Wales later in the week.

Roy Hodgson's team were left distraught on Saturday night when they were denied three points in their Euro 2016 opener when Vasili Berezutski's header in stoppage time cancelled out Eric Dier's free-kick.

Hodgson, who said "to lose it with one minute of injury time remaining is a tough pill to swallow", was back on the training pitch on Sunday afternoon looking to re-energise his squad after the disappointment.

The England squad left Marseille by bus at 0930 BST, including defender John Stones wearing the Leo the Lion mascot on his back, arriving at Chantilly three hours later.

England next face Wales on Thursday with less pressure on Chris Coleman's side after their 2-1 triumph over Slovakia on Saturday afternoon thanks to Hal Robson-Kanu's late winner.

The 11 players who begun against Russia were handed a warming-down session at their hotel, while the others were put through their paces by the manager.

This included Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who played for 12 minutes after coming on for Wayne Rooney, got stuck into training, as was James Milner, a late replacement for Raheem Sterling on Saturday night.
