England came from a goal down to beat Italy 2-1 in the Under-17 European Championship at Walsall's Banks's Stadium.

After beating Israel 2-1 in their opener on Friday night, England's second consecutive victory means they only need a point from Thursday's final group match against Switzerland at Rotherham to seal a quarter-final spot.

Italy went ahead after 14 minutes when captain Alessio Riccardi struck with a 20-yard shot into the bottom corner of the net, but England's two second-half goals in the space of five minutes from Arvin Appiah (64') and Tommy Doyle (69') handed the hosts victory.

Nottingham Forest's Appiah levelled things up with a controlled left-foot shot after a mazy run while Doyle scored from the penalty spot after a foul on West Brom's Rayhaan Tulloch.
