Everton defender Gethin Jones is set to commit his future to Wales.

Chris Coleman picks his Wales squad for the World Cup qualifier against Serbia on June 11, and is hopeful Jones will be on board.

The defender, who is being sought after by Australia, the country of his birth, joined the toffees as a 12-year-old, but Jones sees his immediate future with Wales.

The Perth-born youngster said: "I feel more Welsh than Australian. I've been Wales captain from the Under-16s to the Under-21s so if the first team called I'd definitely go for that.

Although Jones admitted in an interview earlier in the year he felt "more Welsh than Australian", he didn't rule out the possibility of playing for the Socceroos.

Jones said: "Australia contacted Everton two or three months back asking for me to play for their Under-23s, but I didn't want to make any decisions then,"

"But it depends now. If Australia came in before Wales you never know, it's something I'd have to seriously think about."

The 21-year-old has made one senior appearance for the toffees against Russian side Krasnodar in the Europa League in 2014.
