Germany captain Michael Ballack is doubtful for Wednesday night's World Cup qualifier against Wales in Monchengladbach because of a sore calf.
The Chelsea midfielder sustained the injury in Germany's 2-1 win over Russia last Saturday and was unable to train on Monday.
"Michael is undergoing treatment and we'll have to wait and see how he responds," said Germany manager Oliver Bierhoff.
Germany currently lead Group Four with seven points, one point ahead of Wales.
