Former Republic of Ireland international Clinton Morrison gave his player ratings after the disappointing 3-0 defeat by Belgium.

A double from Romelu Lukaku, either side of Axel Witsel's header, gave Belgium their first points of the tournament, meaning Ireland need to beat Italy on Wednesday to have a chance of qualifying for the knockout stage of Euro 2016.

Morrison - a scorer of nine goals in 36 internationals - gave us his match ratings, marking each Ireland player out of 10…

Romelu Lukaku scored twice as Belgium got their Euro 2016 campaign back on track with a 3-0 win

Darren Randolph (6)

Darren made a few good saves, but I think he could have done better with the Axel Witsel header. He'll be disappointed, but other than that he commanded his area well.

Seamus Coleman (7)

I thought in the second half he had a right go, and took Eden Hazard the other way, meaning the Chelsea man had to switch wings to cause his problems. That was testament to Seamus' work.

John O'Shea (6)

He was strong and commanding, and dealt with almost everything, but when a centre forward scores twice you have to look at the defence.

Ciaran Clark (5)

I know I'm being harsh, and I want to give him a six, but the tackle he has made when it was 2-0 on Hazard and they've cut right through the defence; I think he's dived in and should have stayed on his feet.

Stephen Ward (6)

He defended well. He has come in late, hasn't played much football, but I thought him and Robbie Brady combined well down the left.

Jeff Hendrick (7)

A livewire, box-to-box, and he has probably been Ireland's outstanding player from the tournament so far. He keeps producing, and they'll need him strong again for the Italy match.

Glenn Whelan (6)

Glenn worked ever so hard in that midfield pit, did his job well, and it's such a shame he hasn't come off on the winning side again.

James McCarthy (6)

It's just not happening for him at the moment in this tournament. I know he had an injury at the end of the season with Everton and I don't think he's fully fit at the moment, and you can see he's playing catch up. It's difficult for him.

Robbie Brady (7)

Whether you play this kid left-back or left wing, he is now the star for Ireland, he keeps producing all the time and could be key against Italy.

Wes Hoolahan (6)

He didn't have the impact he had earlier in the week against Sweden. Maybe with his age the two games in five days caught up with him, but we'll need him for the Italian game.

Shane Long (6)

He worked the two centre-halves ever so hard, but I felt sorry for him as a striker myself. He was isolated, the balls up to him weren't great and he just needs a goal.

Aiden McGeady (6)

He came on, looked lively, just as you'd expect, and for the Italy game you never know, Martin O'Neill might make a few changes.

James McClean (6)

Again, he could be pushing for a start against Italy, he always beats his full-back and gets a decent cross in.

Robbie Keane (6)

He didn't have much time, but he's the person for the Italy game, he could be crucial. The other boys have put a lot of work in and O'Neill will need to freshen it up because they have to go out and win the game.
