France goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris insists his team-mates back the decision to go ahead with Tuesday's friendly against England at Wembley.

The French Football Federation's (FFF) president Noel Le Graet made the decision to proceed with the fixture despite Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris, which targeted France's match with Germany at the Stade de France.

It was reported in France that a number of players had deep reservations about playing the game at Wembley, which will be guarded by armed police, but Lloris says it "will be a great moment of solidarity".

"The last three days were a bit dramatic and I think we were in mourning altogether," Lloris told a pre-match press conference on Monday.

"We spent time in Clairefontaine together and I think the president has made the best decision to play this game.

"It will be an opportunity for us to show character, through that game, and I will share this moment with all the English people."

The France squad have stayed together following their 2-0 victory over Germany, which means they have not seen friends and family as they prepare for the clash with England.

But Lloris said: "The whole situation has been managed very well for us by the manager and backroom staff, as well as the president, and we are ready to play tomorrow.

"We would have liked to see our nearest and dearest, but we have remained together and discussed the dramatic events of Friday, keeping up with events on TV and the internet.

"We had some concerns about playing, but the president confirmed we had to play the game. We respect his decision. It will be a good moment to respect the french nation and the french nation is more important."
