Florent Malouda has expressed his frustration after starting France's opening game of the World Cup finals against Uruguay on the bench.
The Chelsea midfielder was tipped to start Friday evening's Group A encounter following an impressive season at club level for the Double winners.
However, he was only introduced for the final 15 minutes of the lacklustre 0-0 draw in Cape Town and was disappointed not to be used from the start by coach Raymond Domenech.
"It's frustrating," he said. "But that's life. I hope I get a chance to show my quality.
"Hopefully we can take this (point) as an opportunity to move on. That will be important."
Tactical discipline
Malouda admits the 1998 winners were lacking in creativity as France failed to capitalise on playing against 10 men in the closing stages of the game.
He added: "We would have preferred to have won, but Uruguay are a very solid and defensively well-organised team.
"There weren't many risks being taken out there.
"The focus was really on tactical discipline and maybe we lacked that little touch of flamboyance and imagination that might have tipped the scales in our favour."
Defender Bacary Sagna said: "We were well organised and we didn't want to waste our chances of winning the game by just throwing everything into attack.
"Goals were all that was missing and at least we know which areas we have to work on."
