Barcelona have sold left-back Adriano Correia to Turkish side Besiktas for a fee of £500,000 plus add-ons.

The Brazilian defender moved to the Nou Camp in the summer of 2010 from Sevilla for a fee of £8m and has gone on to make more than 100 La Liga appearances for Barcelona.

Adriano, 31, has collected 16 titles in six seasons at the club and the move comes after he extended his current contract in March to 2017.

However, his future has been in doubt since the Catalan club signed Lucas Digne from Paris Saint-Germain for £14m to compete with Jordi Alba for the left-back birth.

"FC Barcelona and Besiktas JK have come to an agreement for the transfer of Adriano Correia for the amount of €600,000, plus up to €1.7m more if Besiktas were to qualify for the Uefa Champions League while Adriano's contract is still in force.

"The club wishes Adriano the best of luck with his new team," said a club statement on their website.

Adriano is the sixth player to leave the Nou Camp this summer following the departures of Marc Bartra, Dani Alves, Alex Song, Sandro Ramirez and Alen Halilovic.
