With Mousa Dembele reportedly a target for Beijing Guoan and a number of other European players linked with moves to the Far East, here's all you need to know about when Premier League stars could be pinched by the big spenders in the Chinese Super League...
The window opened on January 1 but, unlike the English winter transfer window, has stayed open throughout this month and will not shut until Wednesday, February 28.
Dembele is the main English-based player linked with a move to a Chinese club, but Las Palmas' Spanish international Jonathan Viera, who was reportedly a Newcastle target in January, is said to be subject of a £17.8m bid from Guoan, the same side chasing Dembele.
Even Barcelona's Lionel Messi is attracting interest, with reports Hebei Fortune have come in with a bid for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, although it is claimed it would cost £1.2 billion to take him to China.
Most European clubs can't complete any new signings until the summer, but Russia's transfer window is open until February 22 and Brazil's until April 2. The MLS window opened on February 7 and will close on May 1.
Fifa have confirmed the English transfer window will re-open on Friday, June 9, and officially close on August 31 as usual.
However, because of a new agreement between Premier League clubs, the top-flight window in England will close at 5pm on Thursday August 9, two days before the start of the 2018-19 season.
Most other major leagues will keep their transfer windows open until the end of August, and as things stand so will the EFL, who have yet to agree any change to their own policy.
