Manchester City will be hoping to end their poor run of form in Europe when they meet Ajax in Tuesday night's Group D game at the Etihad Stadium. Anything but a victory for Roberto Mancini's men will likely draw a line under their adventures in Europe's top club competition for another year.
Before the campaign started, many would've pinpointed this game as a straight-forward three points for City but, as Ajax showed two weeks ago, beating City 3-1 at the Amsterdam Arena, they will be tough opposition in what has now become a must win game.

Christian Eriksen
The Denmark international sealed the win for Ajax two weeks ago with a deflected shot off Gael Clichy and he caused City problems all night with his driving runs and balls into the box. At the age of 20 he has already made 87 league appearances for Ajax and he has 30 Denmark caps to his name. Eriksen has attracted interest from across Europe including Manchester United who had scouts watching him during Euro 2012 but he has remained loyal to Ajax where he has been a focal part of a promising young team, playing alongside Siem De Jong in midfield. He also admitted that he had the chance to join City in 2011 but felt it wasn't the right time to move and he will again be hoping to show Roberto Mancini what he missed out on.
Siem De Jong
Dutch attacking midfielder Siem De Jong started Ajax's comeback with a low strike past Joe Hart just before half-time and he caused City problems all night. Similar to Eriksen, De Jong has also progressed through the ever effective Ajax youth system. He is the current Ajax captain following Jan Vertonghen's departure to Tottenham over the summer. He has one cap for the Netherlands to date and he was on the provisional list for their Euro 2012 squad although he didn't make the final 23. De Jong has made 124 league appearances for Ajax, scoring 41 goals. He has also attracted interest from several European sides including Real Madrid.
Daley Blind
Another product of the Ajax youth system, Daley Blind, was also a constant thorn in Manchester City's side in the 3-1 win. The left-back showed that not only is he reliable at the back, he has good attacking qualities, almost setting up Eriksen for the opening goal. The former Netherlands Under 21 international is the son of Ajax legend Danny. Blind has made 43 league appearances so far for Ajax and is just one of a number of young players who has managed to make an impact in Ajax's European campaign.
