FC Dallas scored a late equaliser at Portland Timbers to keep intact the last remaining unbeaten record in MLS.
Portland twice took the lead at Toyota Stadium through Fanendo Adi and Sebastian Blanco, but Dallas hit back through Maxi Urruti and Tesho Akindele to salvage a 2-2 draw.
Akindele's goal game 10 minutes from time ensured Dallas remain unbeaten in seven games this season.
The draw meant Portland's lead at the top of the Western Conference was cut back to two points following Sporting Kansas City's 3-0 win over Real Salt Lake.
Benny Feilhaber, Dom Dwyer and Gerso notched the goals on a rainy night as SKC extended their unbeaten home run in MLS to a club-record 13 games.
Seattle Sounders scored three times late on to earn a 3-3 draw against New England Revolution at CenturyLink Field.
Juan Agudelo took his tally to six for the season with a brace after Daigo Kobayashi had opened the scoring to seemingly leave visiting New England cruising to victory at 3-0.
However, Nicolas Lodeiro, Will Bruin and Osvaldo Alonso all scored in the final 15 minutes to earn Seattle an unlikely draw
Bradley Wright-Phillips was on the scoresheet again as New York Red Bulls saw off Chicago Fire 2-1 to close to within two points of leaders Orlando at the top of the Eastern Conference.
Wright-Phillips opened the scoring in the 37th minute with his fourth goal of the campaign and, although Chicago levelled through Nemanja Nikolic, the Red Bulls snatched the points thanks to Kemar Lawrence's 71st-minute winner.
New York FC were also victorious, coming from behind to beat Columbus Crew 3-2 with Jack Harrison netting twice. Yangel Herrera grabbed New York's other goal with Federico Higuain and Ola Kamara scoring for the hosts.
Florian Jungwirth's 54th-minute effort earned the San Jose Earthquakes a 1-0 win at Minnesota United, while the match between fellow strugglers LA Galaxy and Philadelphia Union finished goalless.
