Didier Drogba continued to impress in his debut MLS season, scoring and assisting as Montreal Impact ended New England Revolution’s eight-game unbeaten run

Toronto FC ended a three-game losing run in MLS in fine style as they earned a 3-1 win against the Colorado Rapids at BMO Field on Saturday.

All the goals came in the first half as striker Sebastian Giovinco opened the scoring in the 14th minute and doubled Toronto's lead four minutes later, before Damien Perquis put the result beyond doubt with the hosts' third goal seven minutes before the interval.

Dillon Powers pulled a goal back for Colorado two minutes later but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation for the visitors, who are now winless in three matches.

Frank Lampard did not get on the scoresheet but made a telling contribution nevertheless as New York City proved their recent blip was firmly behind them as they beat the San Jose Earthquakes 3-2 to earn their second successive victory.

Lampard had helped his side end a four-game winless sequence last time out when he scored in their 2-0 victory against Toronto but, while he did not find the target at Yankee Stadium on Saturday night, he set Ned Grabavoy up for his second goal.

Grabavoy had opened the scoring six minutes into the second half before doubling his and New York's tally on 63 minutes thanks to Lampard's assist.

David Villa made it 3-0 moments later - which was just as well for the hosts as the Earthquakes pulled two goals back in quick succession through Quincy Amarikwa and Chris Wondolowski (penalty) to set up a nervy finale.
