Juventus have identified Barcelona defender Martin Caceres as one of their top transfer targets.

Barca defender wanted by Italians

Juventus have identified Barcelona defender Martin Caceres as one of their top transfer targets. The 22-year-old Uruguayan joined Barca from Villarreal last summer but was unable to establish himself as a regular starter. He nevertheless impressed when he had the opportunities and Juve believe he would be an excellent signing. Club administrator Jean-Claude Blanc feels a loan deal would suit both Juve and Barca, and is hopeful that an agreement can be reached. "We are evaluating the possibility to acquire defender Martin Caceres on loan from Barcelona," Blanc told Corriere dello Sport. "He is a great player, young, strong and determined. He would be useful to complete our roster."

Grosso

Lyon left-back Fabio Grosso is another player to have been linked with Juventus, with reports suggesting he wants to return to Italy. However, Blanc maintains that he is not on Juve's radar, saying: "I'm going to be honest, Grosso does not interest us. "He is under contract (until June 2012) and is not a free agent like Fabio Cannavaro. "I don't think it's a good investment signing a 32-year-old who has a buy-out clause."
