Juventus have all but sealed the transfer of Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci from Bari.

Marotta says deal for defender is imminent

Juventus have all but sealed the transfer of Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci from Bari and Genoa. Bonucci was at the Southern Italy club last season after being co-owned by both Bari and Genoa following a transfer from Inter Milan at the start of the previous campaign. But his performances for Bari saw him rewarded with a place in Italy's World Cup squad. A deal for the 23-year-old is understood to have been agreed with Bari following Italy's shock exit at the group stage of the tournament, before talks with Genoa to arrange a full sale to Juventus. "We are defining the details for the acquisition of Bonucci, obviously he is a player who interests us," Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta told tuttomercatoweb.
