Cisse bags Marseille treble

Djibril Cisse smashed a hat-trick as Marseille ran riot against Caen, while Nancy were held at struggling Auxerre. Lowly Sochaux recorded a much-needed win at home to Valenciennes as bottom club Metz drew 1-1 at home with Rennes. Marseille's season is steadily gathering momentum and the Stade Velodrome club romped to a 6-1 home success over Caen. However, l'OM did have to come from behind to claim the points after Caen took a second minute lead through Julien Toudic. Former Liverpool striker Cisse equalised on 28 minutes before Mathieu Valbuena netted twice in four minutes leading up to half-time. Cisse stole the show in the second half, scoring on 54 and 57 minutes before Samir Nasri completed the rout 10 minutes from time. Third-placed Nancy failed to make major inroads into Lyon's lead at the top of the table after a 0-0 draw with Auxerre, who remain in the relegation zone. Nice stay in fourth spot in the standings after snatching a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Toulouse. Dominique Arribage put Toulouse ahead on 34 minutes before Nice levelled on 89 minutes through Ederson. A Jeremie Brechet goal midway through the first half provided Sochaux with an important three points at home to Valenciennes. Substitute Momar N'Diaye salvaged a point for Metz, who are still to reach double figures for points this season after a 1-1 draw with Rennes. The evergreen Sylvain Wiltord put the visitors in front on 25 minutes, but N'Diaye equalised for Metz on 80 minutes - 10 minutes after being brought on. Lens twice came from behind to draw 2-2 at home to Strasbourg, with Olivier Monterrubio the hosts' saviour. Monterrubio scored from the penalty spot after five minutes, just 60 seconds after Wason Renteria had put Strasbourg ahead. Alvaro dos Santos had an immediate impact from the bench when restoring Strasbourg's lead on 77 minutes, but Monterrubio equalised again five minutes later. Diasuke Matsui's 23rd minute goal was enough to secure Le Mans a 1-0 home win over Monaco. Lille and Paris Saint Germain have both endured disappointing seasons to date and the two clubs played out a 0-0 draw. Auxerre 0 Nancy 0 Le Mans 1 Monaco 0 Lens 2 Strasbourg 2 Lille 0 Paris Saint Germain 0 Marseille 6 Caen 1 Metz 1 Rennes 1 Sochaux 1 Valenciennes 0 Toulouse 1 Nice 1
