Soccer Saturday pundit Paul Merson was congratulated by host Jeff Stelling and his fellow commentators after predicting four correct scores in the Super 6

We've asked him to look ahead to the Champions League qualifying round matches involving Manchester United and Celtic, as well as Southampton's Europa League clash on Thursday night...

Celtic v Malmo

It's a hard game for Celtic this but I'm going with the hosts, with the fans behind them, taking a 2-1 win, which is not a great result to be honest. It really is a difficult game for them, this, and they need a home lead.

Paul predicts: 2-1 - Griffiths first goalscorer (Sky Bet odds: 20/1)

Southampton v FC Midtjylland

FC Midtjylland have got the same owner as Brentford and the formula is clearly working for them. This will be a hard game for Southampton, who were terrible against Everton. None of the lads predicted that result and they'll have to take this one seriously. Saints were very good in the last round and I don't see why they shouldn't have a go at trying to win the Europa League. I'm going for them to bounce back with a comfortable win.

Paul predicts: 3-0 - Pelle first goalscorer (Sky Bet odds: 18/1)

Manchester United v Club Brugge

Club Brugge have started the season badly and even though I don't think Man United have played that well, they should have enough to win. I'm expecting another cagey one from Louis van Gaal's side. Even though United haven't done well, they've been solid at the back.

Paul predicts: 2-0 - Rooney first goalscorer (Sky Bet odds: 13/1)
