Iron boss feels winger would be hungry to succeed

Scunthorpe United manager Ian Baraclough has confirmed he is hoping to add Morecambe winger Mark Duffy to his squad. Skysports.com revealed earlier on Tuesday that the Iron were closing in on a deal for Duffy, who has impressed in League Two this season. Baraclough has been frantically trying to improve his options in January and is optimistic that he can bring Duffy to Glanford Park. "He's a lad who has done well at Morecambe," Baraclough told the club's official website. "He's bright, he's sharp and is a busy player.

Hard-working

"He's hard-working and that's the type of player we've traditionally brought into this club and they've gone on and done well. "He's a hungry lad who wants to improve himself. "If we can get him then he will be a good acquisition for sure." Duffy has been a massive success at Morecambe since joining the club initially on loan from Southport in February 2009 before making the switch permanent later that summer. The 25-year-old has made over 50 appearances for the Shrimps and his performances have attracted the interest of a host of clubs.
