Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has described his experience of playing for England at Euro 2012 as "amazing". The 18-year-old made his debut for the Three Lions against France in their opening game of the group stage and also come on as a substitute against Sweden and Ukraine. Oxlade-Chamberlain is rated as one of the more promising young players in world football and was thrilled to represent his country at the European Championship. "It was everything I expected and a bit more - it was an amazing experience all round," he said on Arsenal's official website. "Obviously it was my first involvement in a senior England squad, and for it to be at a massive tournament like the Euros - well, it doesn't get much better than that. "It was brilliant to be in and around the squad and to train with the players I trained with. I learnt a lot from it.

Grateful

"I didn't expect to play, but then I didn't expect to go in the first place. It was all a bit of a surprise, but I tried to take it in my stride. "I was grateful for every minute that I got on the pitch and the whole experience was unbelievable." Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to play a major role in Arsenal's Premier League campaign this term, which they will start with a home game against Sunderland on 18th August.
