Norwich boss Paul Lambert is refusing to admit his side are safe from Premier League relegation until it is mathematically confirmed.
Two goals from skipper Grant Holt earned a hard-fought 2-1 home win against bottom side Wolves and moved the Canaries up to 11th place with 39 points.
Forty points is generally considered as the benchmark for achieving safety but Lambert is not contemplating a second straight season in the top flight just yet.
The Scot said: "I don't know if it is enough - unless someone tells me it is mathematically.
"It might take not 40, it might do but I'm not so sure.
"It's the first time for everyone at this football club and like I've said before the lads have been brilliant for me."
Back foot
Norwich fell behind to Matt Jarvis' 25th minute opener before equalising within 90 seconds and then edging ahead from the penalty spot before the half-time break.
But Wolves refused to give up and were given hope of snatching a draw at Carrow Road by Holt's late dismissal for his second yellow card.
"It was a really hard game as I thought it would be because Wolves are fighting for their lives," said Lambert.
"They came here and took a lead but we came back strongly in the first half.
"We might have scored in the second half but with Grant getting sent off it put us on the back foot for the last five minutes.
"But credit to the team, they defended really strongly."
