Stoke City goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann has agreed to join Scottish Premiership side Ross County on a six-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old Austrian, who has been with Stoke since 2011, revealed the news on Twitter.

He said: "I'm very happy to announce that I just signed a 6-month loan deal @RCFCStaggies! Can't wait to get the season started on Saturday!"

County boss Jim McIntyre, whose side finished ninth in the table last season, made the move for Bachmann after regular keepers Mark Brown and Antonio Reguero joined Dumbarton and Hibernian respectively.

Bachmann, who has represented Austria at U21 level, started his career in the Stoke Academy but failed to make a first-team appearance under Mark Hughes and spent last season on loan at Conference side Wrexham.

Meanwhile, Celtic midfielder Jackson Irvine has joined County on a two-year deal.

The Australian, who moved to Parkhead from Melbourne Victory in 2010, impressed McIntyre during a season-long loan deal last campaign where he scored two goals in 25 matches.

Irvine told County's website: "I'm delighted to be back at Ross County. I always knew it might be a possibility to come back and join the club permanently and now it's all agreed I couldn't be happier."
