Deportivo La Coruna players are seeing a top psychologist in a bid to turn their dire season around.

Top scorer sidelined for up to five weeks

Players from struggling Primera Liga side Deportivo La Coruna have been ordered to visit a top psychologist in a bid to turn their dire season around. Coach Miguel Angel Lotina has teamed up with Joaquin Dosil, a specialist in sports psychology, to offer each player an hour-long session a week. In the club's worst-ever start in La Liga, the Spanish side find themselves rooted to the bottom of the league with just three points from six games. And the Branquiazuis have suffered a further setback after it was announced on the club's official website that Mexican midfielder Andres Guardado, the club's 24-year-old top scorer with two goals, will be sidelined for up to five weeks with a torn thigh muscle. However midfielder Ruben Perez believes the psychology sessions will help the struggling club turn their season around. "The purpose of the session was to improve things, not to blame anyone for what has been done badly," the 21-year-old told AS. "We talked about the team being in a difficult situation - these things give you strength and help you not to give up hope."
