The goalkeeper was dismissed after 68 minutes of Swansea’s 3-1 Premier League defeat at Upton Park.

The Poland international faces a one-match suspension if the original decision is upheld by the Football Association.

In a statement on its official website, the club said: "Swansea City can confirm that the club will be appealing the red card issued to goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski against West Ham on Sunday.

"The club officially informed the Football Association by today’s 1pm deadline.

"The Polish international, who faces a one-match ban, was shown a straight red card by referee Chris Foy for impeding Diafra Sakho and denying a clear goalscoring opportunity in the 68th minute of the defeat at the Boleyn Ground.
