Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Oldham Athletic and Tranmere Rovers at Boundary Park.

Latics full-back Connor Brown is rated as 50-50 for their home bout this weekend. The 21-year-old was withdrawn in the second half of Latics' 3-1 victory over Port Vale last Saturday and his replacement that afternoon, Cliff Byrne, may slot in. Carl Winchester, another right-back, could be available for the first time this season after returning to full training following his knee injury. Striker Charlie MacDonald was absent against Vale due to a dead leg but should feature while Danny Philliskirk, son of Oldham's academy manager Tony, is in line for his debut after penning a two-year deal on Wednesday. Forward Jose Baxter will not be involved after joining Sheffield United on Thursday. Ronnie Moore has hinted Rovers will alter their formation as injured players return for the trip North West. Rovers were only able to name four substitutes on Tuesday night when they defeated Bolton in the Capital One Cup on penalties but Joe Thompson (illness), Ryan Lowe (hamstring) and Akpo Sodje (knee) will all be back in contention. That will allow Moore to switch back to his preferred 4-4-2 with only suspended full-back Andrai Jones and injured midfielders Andy Robinson (knock) and James Wallace (knee) definitely absent. Jason Koumas started his first competitive game in over two years against Wanderers while veteran Ian Goodison, 40, played 120 minutes but Moore is confident fatigue will not be an issue for either player.
