Sloan Privat stoppage-time own goal inflicted a third straight defeat on 10-man Sochaux as they went down 1-0 at Reims.

Sloan Privat handed promoted Reims their first victory of the Ligue 1 season as his stoppage-time own goal inflicted a third straight defeat on 10-man Sochaux. The newly-promoted hosts looked set to miss out on a first win when Kamel Ghilas saw his first-half penalty saved. Sochaux enjoyed the best of the play despite the 37th-minute dismissal of Sebastian Corchia but, in second-half stoppage time, substitute Privat put through his own net to send them home without a point. The visitors were equally desperate for a victory having also suffered consecutive defeats at the start of the new campaign. And they started brightly, Cedric Bakambu forcing a strong save from Kossi Agassa following good work from Roy Contout. Ghilas pounced on Christopher Glombard's through ball as Reims threatened a response, but he could only blast over the crossbar. On the half-hour mark Corchia earned a first yellow for a bad foul. Reims continued to press, Nicolas Fauvergue heading Antoine Deveaux's cross wide, but the hosts would soon be given a more clear-cut opportunity to take the lead. As Corchia was shown a second yellow card and given his marching orders for handling in the box, Ghilas duly stepped up to take the spot-kick. But Pierrick Cros guessed right to steer the Algerian's effort wide and ensure Sochaux kept their clean sheet at the break. At the other end Boudebouz saw his 25-yard attempt blocked by Thierry Doubai before Odair Fortes supplied two killer balls for Fauvergue, who nodded the first over the bar and spooned the second high and wide. Sochaux then sat back, happy to settle for a solitary point, before Privat booked himself an awkward return journey to Montbeliard with an own goal four minutes into stoppage time.
