Chelsea can clinch their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League with victory over Rosenborg.

Blues can clinch qualification with victory

Chelsea can clinch their place in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League with victory over Rosenborg on Wednesday night, live on Sky Sports Xtra. The Norwegian side came away from Stamford Bridge with a 1-1 draw in September in what proved to be Jose Mourinho's final game in charge of The Blues. Rosenborg have since showed the result was no fluke by beating Valencia home and away to move to second in Group B. If they take three points against Chelsea they could also progress to the knockout phase, depending on the outcome of Schalke's clash with Valencia. Rosenborg coach Trond Henriksen is confident his team can shock Chelsea, saying: "We will aim to take control of the game just as we did against Valencia. "We are proud of what we have achieved so far in the UEFA Champions League, but now we are hungry for more and want to do even better." Henriksen is set to name the same side that beat Valencia last time out, meaning Fredrik Stoor will once again get the nod over Roar Strand at right-back. Former Tottenham striker Steffen Iversen, who scored a hat-trick for Norway last week, will lead the line.

      Drogba returns

Chelsea will be wary of the conditions that await them after heavy snowfall in Trondheim over the last few days that may have brought back memories of their Cup Winners' Cup defeat to Tromso ten years ago. But Avram Grant will want his players to secure qualification and avoid going to Valencia in their final group game knowing they need a result. Petr Cech is still injured so Carlo Cudicini will continue in goal, while Grant must decide who should partner John Terry in defence in the absence of Ricardo Carvalho. Grant has been boosted by the return to fitness of Didier Drogba, and the Ivorian is set to spearhead the attack after recovering from a knee injury sustained while on international duty. However, Michael Ballack (ankle), Florent Malouda (knee) and Paulo Ferreira (ankle) are all out.
