Scunthorpe v Ipswich preview

Ian Baraclough will begin life as Scunthorpe's new manager at home to Ipswich on Saturday.

No worries for Baraclough; Livermore unlikely to make debut

Ian Baraclough will begin life as Scunthorpe's new manager at home to Ipswich on Saturday. The 39-year-old former first-team coach had been in temporary charge for the last three games since the departure of Nigel Adkins and Andy Crosby to Southampton. After beginning with a stunning 4-0 win at Sheffield United, the Iron lost 2-0 at Swansea before going out of the Carling Cup following a 5-2 home defeat by holders Manchester United on Wednesday night. Baraclough will be aiming to get back to winning ways in what is sure to be a tough Championship contest against Roy Keane's high-flyers. The Tractor Boys have lost just one league game this season, against leaders QPR, and they will be aiming to open up a gap between themselves and the rest of the chasing pack if they can secure three points at Glanford Park.

Iron team news

Baraclough may shuffle his pack for the date with Ipswich. The Scunthorpe boss has no new injury concerns following their entertaining defeat to Sir Alex Ferguson's side in midweek. Winger Garry Thompson remains sidelined with a groin injury and on-loan Brighton left-back Jim McNulty is also expected to miss out again with an ankle problem. However, defender Rob Jones could earn a recall to the starting line-up after recovering from a knee injury and Bobby Grant and Michael Collins are also pushing for starting roles. Striker Grant and midfielder Collins both came off the bench against United and Baraclough will assess his options.
Town team news
Ipswich boss Roy Keane is likely to revert back to the starting line-up that beat Cardiff 2-0 despite the arrival of Jake Livermore. The 19-year-old has signed on loan until January from Tottenham but is likely to make his debut from the bench following the club's impressive form recently. Martin Fulop will replace Brian Murphy between the sticks and Darren O'Dea and Tommy Smith are likely to come in for Damien Delaney and Mark Kennedy in defence following the Carling Cup win at Millwall. In midfield, Luke Hyam and Jamie Peters are expected to be replaced by David Norris and Carlos Edwards while up front Jason Scotland and Connor Wickham should take over from Colin Healy and Tamas Priskin despite the Hungarian's goal. Luciano Civelli will be absent again as he continues to recover from a serious knee injury.
