Tottenham Hotspur do battle with bitter North London foes Arsenal in the third round of the Carling Cup, live on Sky Sports HD2 & 2. The two clubs met in the semi-final of this competition back in 2008 when, after their first meeting at Emirates Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw, Spurs thumped the Gunners 5-1 at White Hart Lane. On Tuesday night, the pair lock horns on Tottenham's home turf, where Arsenal were beaten in the league last season as Harry Redknapp's men showed signs of closing the gap on their rivals. Spurs, who went on to lift the League Cup after seeing off Arsenal back in 2008, head into the game on the back of a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Harry changes

Despite suggesting that he would prefer to choose trophies over handing youth a chance, in an arguable jibe at counterpart Arsene Wenger, Redknapp has stated "there will be lots of changes" to his side. The likes of Brazilian starlet Sandro are set to be called upon, with the midfielder an £8million summer signing from Internacional. The 21-year-old Jake Livermore and, if fit, 18-year-old Steven Caulker are also set to feature while David Bentley and third-choice goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa should start. Gunners boss Wenger is poised to make several changes to the side which were denied late on at Sunderland on Saturday teatime.
Fabianski
Skipper Cesc Fabregas would have missed out regardless but is nonetheless now sidelined with a hamstring problem he sustained on Wearside. Wenger appears poised to stand by under-fire goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski despite a catalogue of mistakes already made in an Arsenal shirt, while defender Johan Djourou is to make his first appearance of the season. Emmanuel Eboue, Kieran Gibbs and Mexican striker Carlos Vela are all also set to be deployed at White Hart Lane, and promising youngster Jay Emmanuel-Thomas could play.
