Bolton v Bristol City preview

Image: Mark Davies: Injury doubt for Bolton

Bolton are hopeful Shola Ameobi and Mark Davies will make their basement battle with Bristol City at the Macron Stadium.

Ameobi missed the trip to Ipswich in midweek after jarring his knee in the draw with Preston while central midfielder Davies has been troubled by an Achilles issue.

However, full-back Dean Moxey (toe) and midfielder Tom Walker (hip) are still struggling and likely to return after the international break, while Zach Clough (shoulder) and Wellington Silva (hamstring) are long-term absentees.

Boss Neil Lennon is hopeful of signing at least one player on loan before kick-off as his team bid to claw back the four-point gap between themselves and safety.

City boss Steve Cotterill has no new problems as he targets back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Some players are nursing minor bumps and bruises following the 1-0 home victory over Wolves on Tuesday night but those on duty in midweek will be available again against Bolton.

Midfielder Scott Wagstaff remains absent due to a lack of match fitness following his recovery from a calf injury.
