Conor Chaplin grabbed a late winner as Coventry beat Wycombe 1-0 to move up to 12th in League One.
Both goalkeepers made a string of fine saves to earn what looked like deserved clean sheets at the Ricoh Arena.
But Chaplin headed Dujon Sterling's cross home eight minutes from time to hand the Sky Blues back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.
Jordy Hiwula dazzled his way into the box early on, with Ryan Allsop superbly tipping his effort past the post.
Allsop was at it again before the break with a low stop denying Chaplin on the turn.
An intriguing battle between Sky Blues stopper Lee Burge and Craig Mackail-Smith ensued with Burge denying the Scottish striker twice in six minutes before the interval.
Burge completed a hat-trick of stops against the frustrated frontman after the restart.
Adebayo Akinfenwa missed the chance to extend his scoring streak to four games in a row when he headed wide.
City upped the ante late on with Jonson Clarke-Harris lashing wide from 30 yards out, before Hiwula was again thwarted by Allsop and Chaplin sealed his side's victory.
