Bologna pulled away from the Serie A relegation zone with an unexpected 3-2 win at high-flying Napoli.

Bologna pulled away from the Serie A relegation zone with an unexpected 3-2 win at high-flying Napoli. Despite taking the lead through Manolo Gabbiadini in the 10th minute, there was little to suggest Bologna would take all three points from the Stadio San Paolo when Napoli turned the game through Alessandro Gamberini and Edinson Cavani. But two goals in three minutes from Panagiotis Kone and Daniele Portanova earned Stefano Pioli's side a win that dented Napoli's title hopes and boosted their own chances of survival. Bologna silenced the San Paolo in the 10th minute when Gabbiadini gave them the lead, reaching Nicolo Cherubin's cross at the far post for an easy tap-in. The goal did not do Bologna any favours, though, as it only served to give Napoli more motivation. But they still had to beat Federico Agliardi, and that was easier said than done with the Bologna goalkeeper denying both Cavani and Marek Hamsik as Napoli looked for a leveller. Alberto Gilardino found the back of the net again in the 23rd minute, but the goal was incorrectly ruled out for offside with Napoli let off the hook by the linesman's flag. Striker Goran Pandev was brought on for defender Miguel Britos at the start of the second half with Napoli's intentions clear. It took them just five minutes to level with Lorenzo Insigne's shot only parried by Agliardi as far as Gamberini, who scored from close range. Agliardi denied Cavani in the 58th minute, but he was beaten by the Uruguayan in the 70th minute as Napoli took the lead. Insigne again was the provider, lifting the ball into the area from the left and Cavani was left unmarked to head in from close range. Bologna did not give up, though, and they levelled in the 86th minute with Kone once again silencing the home fans with a stunning acrobatic shot from 15 yards which flashed past Morgan De Sanctis in an instant. Three minutes later, the silence became eerie when Portanova put Bologna in front. He headed in Alessandro Diamanti's free-kick to earn the Rossoblu a surprise away win with a dramatic ending.
