Javier Mascherano has agreed a new contract extension to keep him at Barcelona for the next three years.
The Argentine joined Barcelona in 2010 from Liverpool initially as a midfielder, but has formed a key centre-back partnership with Gerard Pique at the Nou Camp.
Mascherano refused to rule out a return to the Premier League earlier this year, having moved to England with West Ham in 2006.
The 32-year-old made 32 appearances in the Spanish top flight last season as Luis Enrique's side secured another La Liga title.
Mascherano will face competition from France centre-back Samuel Umtiti next season, after he joined from Lyon earlier this summer.
Barcelona also confirmed the signing of Portugal midfielder Andre Santos on Wednesday, with the Euro 2016 winner arriving from Valencia.
