Kevin De Bruyne will miss up to three weeks with a hamstring injury, according to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
The Spaniard has also confirmed that club captain Vincent Kompany will be out for two to three weeks after he suffered muscle fatigue in the EFL Cup clash against Swansea last week.
Belgian international De Bruyne came off nine minutes from the end of City's 3-1 Premier League win at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday and had tests and scans to determine the seriousness of the injury.
Both players are in Barcelona receiving treatment from Dr Ramon Cugat, but Guardiola said De Bruyne's injury is not as serious as feared ahead of his side's Champions League clash against Celtic in Glasgow on Wednesday.
"Kevin is not a big injury. In two and a half or three weeks, maybe, he will be ready," Guardiola said at his pre-match news conference.
"Dr Cugat is the best doctor in the world and, with him, we know we are so safe."
Guardiola left the Nou Camp in the months before Barcelona's defeat at Celtic Park in 2012, so this week's trip to Glasgow is his first.
"Everyone talks to me about the atmosphere," he said. "I'm looking forward to playing here. I know how strong they are here. I spoke with my old players, and they have said this is a special environment.
"We've started well and tomorrow we have a big opportunity to step forward. This group is so tough. I'm so happy with the performance against Gladbach but it is just one game."
