Former Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel has ruled himself out of the vacant manager's job at Southampton, according to Sky sources.
The 43-year old was the bookies' early favourite to take over at St Mary's, following Wednesday night's sacking of Claude Puel.
We understand Tuchel has not ruled out a move to the Premier League, but the role at Southampton does not appeal to him.
Tuchel is known to want to continue managing a team in the Champions League.
Tuchel's departure from Dortmund came just three days after he led them to a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB-Pokal final. They also finished third in the Bundesliga.
Puel secured an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League with Southampton and guided them to the final of the EFL Cup, where they lost in the final to Manchester United.
