Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi has joined West Brom on a year-long loan deal.

The 26-year-old, who has spent the last two seasons with Al Ahly, travelled to Hong Kong to join the club's pre-season tour after agreeing the deal, which includes an option for West Brom to make the transfer permanent.

Albion chairman John Williams confirmed the club had been tracking Hegazi since he impressed at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, and manager Tony Pulis believes the loan deal suits his side best.

"We're pleased he's here, he's a good addition," said Pulis. "He's got good pedigree and has played for some good clubs. Hopefully he'll be a good signing for us.

"With it being a loan and, if he does well, we've already agreed a final deal. It's really, really good for us."
