Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin says he is confident goalkeeper David de Gea is "fully committed" to the club.
De Gea's proposed move to Real Madrid last summer collapsed following administrative issues, with the Spain international then signing a contract extension at Old Trafford.
Real will not be allowed to register any new players in the next two transfer windows after FIFA found them guilty of breaking rules on signing young players, but they are free to add to their squad in January, prompting speculation that they may turn their attention to De Gea.
But in the wake of De Gea's excellent display against Liverpool, which helped to secure a vital 1-0 win at Anfield on Super Sunday, Schneiderlin said he does not think his team-mate is going anywhere.
"David is a very important player in our squad," Schneiderlin told MUTV. "We are very happy to have him and happy that he didn't go last summer. He is fully committed to this football club.
"When you have a player like this in goal, it's good for us, because we know we are not going to concede many goals and he is going to make some saves."
Manchester United defender Chris Smalling added that the collapse of De Gea's proposed move to Real gave the whole squad a lift.
"When we knew he was lining up for us the whole season, it was a great feeling because he is one of the best," said Smalling.
"He pulled off a great save (at Anfield) and his distribution, especially some of those balls down to Wazza [Wayne Rooney] and Jesse [Lingard], were terrific and really set us up on the attack.
"David is a very calm guy but on the pitch he is talking to us as a unit.
"We know his game inside out so it's good to know that, if we get beat as a defence, we have a great chance to keep that ball out."
