England to play Switzerland friendly at Leicester's King Power Stadium

Leicester City's King Power Stadium

England will play Switzerland in a friendly at Leicester’s King Power Stadium on Tuesday, September 11.

Sky Sports News reported earlier this month the Football Association were keen to continue taking some of their home friendlies away from Wembley, after Leeds' Elland Road hosted England's pre-World Cup victory over Costa Rica.

England last visited Leicester in June 2003 in a 2-1 victory over Serbia & Montenegro, and Foxes players Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire are in contention to play at their home stadium.

England's first post-World Cup match will be against Spain on September 8 at the national stadium in the newly-formed UEFA Nations League.
