Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom says the current Wolves side is one of the best he has seen during his time in the Sky Bet Championship.

Leeds manager Paul Heckingbottom described the current Wolves side as one of the best he has ever seen in the Sky Bet Championship ahead of their game on Wednesday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side are six points clear of second-placed Cardiff heading into the midweek round of fixtures and their trip to Eland Road, live on Sky Sports Football.

Wolves lost 2-0 at Fulham in their last game, with Saturday's scheduled clash with Reading falling foul of the bad weather, but Heckingbottom knows his side will face a tough test nonetheless.

"They've got a bit of everything and having been involved in the Championship for a long time on and off, they are one of the best teams I have seen in this league," he said.

"They're a team we know well and a team we have seen quite a bit of. I know what they are going to bring and there is no reason for them to change anything.

"It's been working great for them so I expect them to do the exact same thing that has got them where they are in the league.

"They have some talented players but they are up there because they are the best team without the ball.

"They are the most efficient team on the counter-attack in my eyes, are a threat at set-plays and defend set-plays well as well.

"Add into the mix the quality they have on the ball and that's why they are such a good side."

Leeds also go into the game on the back of a defeat, having lost 3-0 to Middlesbrough at the Riverside on Friday night.

Heckingbottom called for greater consistency from his players but conceded their current league position is indicative of how they have performed so far this season.

"We have competed well in some games and we were found wanting against Middlesbrough," he added. "That's probably a fair reflection of why we are 11th in the table.

"You have to improve consistency, organisation and compete in every single game regardless of who you play against.

"There couldn't be a better game for us than this one on Wednesday night."
