Chris Lucketti has been named as Bury's new manager after agreeing a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Luckettti, 46, has left his role as assistant manager of Scunthorpe to join the club where made more than 200 appearances between 1993 and 1999.

Bury, who are currently bottom of League One, have been under the stewardship of veteran forward Ryan Lowe following Lee Clark's sacking in October.

The Shakers beat league leaders Shrewsbury on Tuesday night and are now three points adrift of safety.

This will be Lucketti's first permanent managerial position, but he did take charge of Fleetwood for two games in October 2015 after Graham Alexander was sacked.
