Championship: Brighton fight back to beat Charlton 3-2

Brighton fought back from 2-0 down to beat Charlton 3-2 to preserve English football's last unbeaten record.

Ademola Lookman and Reza Ghoochannejhad scored in the first five minutes to give Charlton a stunning start. Manchester United loanee James Wilson pulled one back for Brighton on 50, and Charlton then had Patrick Bauer sent off on 58.

The 10 men from south-east London looked like they would hold to claim a famous win, but with seven minutes left Bobby Zamora scored from close range, his 88th goal in his 150th appearance for Brighton. And two minutes later substitute Tomer Hemed headed home the winner.

Brighton go top of the Championship ahead of Middlesbrough, who beat Ipswich 2-0 on Friday night.

Leeds United beat fourth-placed Hull 2-1 - Chris Wood (30) fired in after Alex Mowatt's drive had rattled the crossbar and Tom Adeyemi (45) doubled the lead. Ahmed Elmohamady cut the deficit on 51 but Steve Evans' men held on.

Burnley, in fifth, were beaten 2-0 in their Lancashire derby with Preston. Will Keane (63) - whose identical twin brother Michael was playing for the Clarets - and Daniel Johnson (86), with his seventh of the season, scored the goals.

Tough times continue for Bolton, whose players were not paid last month. They went down 3-2 at home to Cardiff, Anthony Pilkington's volley on 80 the deciding goal of an entertaining game.

Tony Watt (13) put the Bluebirds in front, but Gary Madine (17) curled home the equaliser. On 53 Scott Malone bundled Cardiff's second, but Neil Lennon's men showed spirit is not the issue, and Dorian Dervite (71) equalised.

But with 10 minutes left Kenwyne Jones' knockdown was volleyed home by Pilkington, whose team are up to sixth. And Bolton had Spanish defender Jose Manuel Casado sent off for his second bookable offence late on.

Highlights of Cardiff's 3-2 win over Bolton in the Sky Bet Championship.

Birmingham City dropped out of the play-off places after losing 2-0 at home to lowly Huddersfield. Joe Lolley scored the first goal anywhere in England's 3pm kick-offs, and Nahki Wells sealed it from close range on 81 - that's the Terriers' first win in three attempts under new boss David Wagner.

Dean Smith enjoyed his first game as Brentford's new manager, with the Bees securing a straightforward 2-0 win over struggling MK Dons

Lasse Vibe put them in front after good work from Alan Judge and Jake Bidwell on 20, and Judge settled it on 71 by volleying in through a crowd of players. It could have been much worse for the visitors - Judge, Sergi Canos and Vibe all hit the woodwork.

Highlights of Blackburn's 2-0 win over Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Blackburn also had a comfortable 2-0 win, at Bristol City who drop to fourth from bottom. The turning point came just after half time when Nathan Baker was sent off for the hosts for his second yellow. Ten minutes later Grant Hanley got the opener and Ben Marshall - with a penalty on 86 after Aden Flint's foul on Markus Olsson - sealed it.

Highlights of Nottingham Forest's 3-0 win over Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship.

Defender Matt Mills scored a brace as Nottingham Forest maintained their recent revival under Dougie Freedman with a comfortable 3-0 win over managerless Fulham.

Rotherham's recent revival - they had won their last two - was ended by Wolves, who were 2-1 victors. James Henry nodded home the first just five minutes in, but Joe Newell levelled, firing in off the post.

Just after half-time Danny Batth headed in at the back post from Jordan Graham's corner, and Rotherham could find no answer.
