Forward Craig Wighton has signed a new contract to stay at Dundee until the end of the 2018/19 season.

Wighton became the club's youngest goalscorer in 2013 when he scored, aged 16, against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Championship, getting his first Premiership goal the following season against Partick Thistle.

Having come through the youth ranks at Dens Park, he played for Scotland under-15s, under-16s, under-17s and in the UEFA Under-17 European Championships in 2014.

Loan spells followed at Brechin City and Raith Rovers before Wighton returned to Dundee to play 15 times in the second half of the season.

Manager Paul Hartley told the club website: "I am delighted that Craig has signed his new deal.

"We are looking forward to the continuation of his development over the next three years."

Managing director John Nelms added: "It's a credit to Craig and the faith that he has had in the development plan set out for him.
