Kilmarnock have rejected a bid from Rangers for winger Jordan Jones believed to be in the region of £500,000, Sky Sports News understands.

The Northern Ireland international, who has 18 months left on his contract at Rugby Park, has scored three goals so far this season.

Speaking after collecting his Ladbrokes Manager of the Month award for December, Killie boss Steve Clarke confirmed they had turned down a bid for a player they rate highly.

"We got an offer for Jordan that was nowhere near [enough], it was a really low offer for a player of Jordan's standing and it was an easy decision for the club to turn it down," Clarke told Sky Sports News.

"Looking at the initial bid from Rangers I would say I am pretty confident they won't offer enough to get Jordan out of the club before the end of the January window."

Kilmarnock are understood to be interested in signing former player Steven Naismith from Norwich, who could be a replacement for Jones if he were to leave the club.

According to Sky sources, Rangers are close to finalising a deal for Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings to join the club until the end of the season, while negotiations to bring Norwich centre-back Russell Martin to Ibrox on loan are on-going.
